ELLEN WIDARGO
Lauren is an ambitious G11/Y12 student from Hong Kong aiming to pursue philosophy, politics and economics at university. How international economics shapes political decisions by our world’s leaders fascinates her, especially when the political philosophy behind these are involved. This has driven her to further explore these subjects through taking courses at Brown University and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, joining the Financial Times as a Student Advocate and writing for Unbounded, among other activities.
I really enjoy historical writing, especially Chinese history and I often write on my blog @souldrabbles. History has always been a passion of mine, and analysing it in depth has generated countless interesting narratives that epitomise society. I’ve always been inspired by Sino-Japanese history as well as women’s roles in revolutions, and so I would like to explore these topics more in depth
